Why do Cars go to Auction?

useful gifts for men

If you've ever wondered about why cars go on auction, then you're not alone. This is a well-known way to save money on used cars. While the process is a bit more involved than you might think, the benefits of buying a car at auction are worth a look. Auction organizers ensure that cars sold are in good shape and are high-quality.

Public car auctions

Public car auctions may be something you have heard of. But are you familiar with what they are, and what they mean to you? Public car auctions are a great way to get a vehicle for a bargain price. Many cars that are up for auction have been removed from the market due to various reasons. Some cars are damaged or vandalized. These cars can often be repossessed and seized by police. You will be able to find some great deals at these auctions, but there are some things you should know before you bid.

Police and government auctions

The Government or police auctions are a great opportunity to find a great price on a car. Even though the government prohibits test-driving the vehicle, you can still view it. If you're mechanically inclined, take a mechanic with you. These auctions may not be perfect, but they will save you a lot.

Dealership auctions

Dealer auctions are an excellent option for those looking to save big on a vehicle. These events offer dealers the opportunity for high-quality vehicles at a lower price. Many dealers attend these events to purchase multiple vehicles at one time, which can be both cost- and time-saving. Buying a quality car from a dealer can also be a good option, as the prices are often negotiable. Of course, buyers should proceed with caution and consider pre-sale inspections.

Closed auctions

These auctions of cars are conducted by government agencies. To test safety, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), uses passenger cars, light trucks and school buses. These vehicles are then reported to the GSA for sale after they have passed their safety tests. These vehicles are classified as "disaster", "not roadworthy", or "salvage sale." To purchase a vehicle at these auctions, contact the auctioneer and sign a Disclaimer Statement.

Program cars

There are two options for buying a used vehicle. You can either buy it from an auto dealer at auction or you can rent a program car from a rental car company. Both are equally valuable. However, the difference lies with how you assess the vehicle's worth. A car that is in great condition on the inside will fetch you a great price at an auto dealer's auction. Program cars are generally in good condition.

How To

How to become an automotive technician

An automotive technician performs repairs and maintains vehicles. He/she works in car dealerships as well as auto shops, garages, and service centers. He/she repairs cars, trucks, motorbikes and snowmobiles for customers. An automotive technician must be able to diagnose problems and make repairs quickly, safely, accurately, and efficiently.

An associate degree from a vocational school is required for anyone who wishes to become an automotive technician. After completing this program, he/she will need to pass the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence's (ASE) certification exam. ASE stands for American Society of Mechanical Engineers. The ASE certification test consists two sections. The first section tests the ability to use mechanical knowledge. The second section tests the ability to apply practical skills. You will need to attend an authorized testing site in order to pass the test. These locations are available online or through your local automotive dealer.

Before becoming an automotive technician, a candidate must pass the test. It varies depending on the location of the applicant. Some states require that applicants attend a training class, while others allow them freedom to study at their own pace. Some states allow technicians to become licensed right away after receiving their license. While others wait until they have had at least six years of experience as an automotive technician.

Apply to your local dealership to become an automotive technician. Once hired, most new employees start out working as apprentices. Apprenticeship programs last about three years. The apprenticeship program teaches students how to change oil, adjust brakes, replace tires, clean spark plugs, inspect engine compartments, and perform routine maintenance. Some students learn how to do advanced repairs, such as installing air filters, replacing shocks, repairing engines, and replacing transmission fluids. Many schools offer classes during regular hours. Some schools offer evening classes, however.

Once a student is done with his/her apprenticeship he/she can become a master journeyman. Journeymen usually spend four to five year learning how to install major systems like transmissions, differentials steering gear, suspensions, drive shafts, and steering gear. Journeymen also learn to fix complicated problems, such as rebuilding engines or troubleshooting electric components. Employers prefer to hire journeymen as they are familiar with the job and can anticipate customer needs.

Candidates who pass the required exams are eligible for a license. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics (2010), almost 1.7million automotive mechanic jobs were on the market. The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicted that this number would rise by 18% from 2009 to 2020. When a candidate plans to open his/her own shop he/she should be ready to invest thousands of dollars in equipment.

The salary of an automotive technician will depend on many factors including where you live, your education level, experience and the type of employer. An average salary for a jobless individual is $20,000 per annum. Someone who has only a highschool diploma could earn around 21,000 dollars per year. Associate's degrees earn approximately $24,000 per annum. Technicians with a bachelor’s degree made about $27,000 annually. And those with master's degrees made around $32,000 per year. A common trend is for salary increases to occur so a professional making less than $30,000 can reasonably expect to be earning $40,000 or more within a few years.
